Dragon Ball ended in 1995, and the TV series Dragon Ball Z finished its run in the January of the following year. However, DB seemed to be too much of a good thing to end. Thus, Dragon Ball GT (Grand Tour or Galaxy Touring) was launched after DBZ. There are 64 episodes to DBGT, which wrapped up on November 19, 1997.
Much of the work was done by the animators and producers at Toei Studios, but a number of the characters were designed (updated) by Toriyama Akira, and he served as a consultant in the process of developing the series. Nevertheless, the DBGT series contained totally new, original episodes. However, Toriyama-san stated that he will not come out with the manga version of DB GT.
Goku is now a child, he is as powerful as he was before, however the only exception being that he loses his shunkan idou (teleportation) skill. Trying to return Son Goku back to normal and saving earth from certain destruction is the mission of the GT adventurers, a journey that propels them to the depths of space and into new surprises.
